A CAREER IN MEN’S AND WOMEN’S CUSTOM CLOTHING WITH GREG CHAPMAN’S EXECUTIVE TAILORED CLOTHES.

Forty three years ago, in 1968, Greg and Raju Chapman started “Executive Tailored Clothes”.  The company was inspired by Greg’s “discovery” of the vastly superior approach to clothing that he experienced while living in Bombay, while his wife “Rajashree” completed her commitments to the last few films of her amazing movie career.  Greg instantly recognized the compromise in mass produced clothing; the fit, the quality and the process of “shopping”, picking up, etc.

Greg had sold clothing throughout high school and college, but had made plans to work as a professional musician by night and a stockbroker by day in Hawaii where he had gone to University, and was living when he met Raju who came through Hawaii making a film.  He arrived in India two years after their meeting, only to discover that his expensive Beverly Hills wardrobe didn’t hold a candle to the clothes worn by Raju’s friends, family and co-stars.  It prompted him to quickly visit a tailor.

The difference in the way he looked and felt in his new tailored clothes amazed him, but what prompted his decision to introduce the concept back home to Americans was the fact that his personal pattern, made by his tailor, reproduced the same result over and over again without his need for shopping, fittings, trying on or picking out clothes.  He knew instantly that busy “Executives” would respond positively.  So, he played piano by night, sold suits by day and assembled a sales force of 12 within 2 years.

Today, many continuing clients who were initially measured up in their offices 25, 30 even 40 years ago, continue to order clothing.  Many have turned to the firm for virtually all of their clothing needs throughout their entire careers.  Many have participated in the company’s unique Wardrobe Plan Program, and have build amazing wardrobes by automatic charge card deduction, every month for 30 to 35 years!

That Wardrobe Plan Program, and the turnkey approach to delivering perfect fitting clothing which is often ordered by phone, or in one sitting with selections scheduled to be delivered every 3,4 or 6 months for a year or two, is the basis of a “residual income” career opportunity with this unique company.

When compared with the horrible compromise of fit, time and quality when shopping at stores or working with conventional tailors, our approach simply has the perfect solution for an individual who wants to look his or her best with a minimum of time and effort.  It’s one thing to profess the ability and quite another to consistently produce it:

Our rich history, with thousands of clients who have received dozens of ourfits  for decades, gives us  a credibility and a definite “edge” over any other purveyor of custom clothing that is simply learning the custom clothing business as they most probably deliver “factory made” semi-custom, made-to-measure clothing to an unsuspecting clientele !

This is a truly unique combination of “assets” that has been pieced together over a 43 year period, which includes trial manufacturing orders to 79 different tailoring companies around the world; not a single one of which proved to be capable of providing the required results.  The art of “pure” custom tailoring, where each client’s individual pattern is drafted by a pattern making tailor, has been almost completely replaced by the shortcut, made-to-measure approach, which modifies a standard pattern to make a suit, usually cut 20 at a time for different clients, all who share the same ready-to-wear size.

Concerning the sales opportunity

Once people experience the unique “feel” and “look” to their clothes that only our method of tailoring can produce, it’s difficult for them to return to off-the-rack clothing.  The natural tendency is for them to want to begin to replace all of the clothing in their wardrobe with our clothing.  We point out to them how that with the supeior quality of our clothing, made on the lap of a tailor for several days, the clothing has the potential to last a lifetime, compared to the “fused” glued together suits that comprise 95% of off the rack suits.  The key to building a lifelong wardrobe is to have enough clothing to avoid frequent dry cleaning that will shorten the life of their clothes.  While most people buy new clothes every 2 to 3 years, essentially replacing the batch they bought 4 to 6 years ago, our approach is to build a wardrobe of classic clothing that will serve one well throughout their entire career.  The Wardrobe Plan is the perfect vehicle to accomplish this, with the discipline of set dates, automatic payments, discounted prices, complimentary accessories and annual bonus rewards for uninterrupted participation in the plan.

If a salesperson is serious, working diligently, having from 3 to 5 or 6 appointments per day, a certain number of those clients can be persuaded to make a part of their initial order, the first selection of one or another of our Wardrobe Plans.  Given the incentive of reduced prices on the entire initial order, and a guarantee of satisfaction as a condition of their new Wardrobe Plan Agreement, many new clients begin the Plan, on their very first order.  The “leverage” factor of not only making a commission on a single order, but rather lining up a 1,2 3 year contract and often “pre-selecting” a number of outfits, begins to create a parallel cash flow that  pays commissions on selections that were “pre-selected” 3,6,9, 12 months ago, which begins to produce income in addition to new sales that are being made.  Just one person per week who signs up on the plan means 50 people by the end of a year, 100 in two years!

The success revolves around the diligent making of daily appointments that begins with telephone calls, learning telephone presentations, answers to objections, practicing techniques of securing appointments, perfecting the initial presentation appointment (once you’re in front of the prospect) in order to “capture” that initial sale on the first meeting,  the art of getting referrals, knowing how to measure and fit clothing, having the taste level to select and put good combinations together, etc.  All of this is “measureable” vis-à-vis our “Across the Board training methods, where you are scored from 1 to 10 in each of these and several other areas.  As you become more proficient in each area, your closing ratios rise, your repeat orders are greater, your referrals are better and your income rises.

While nothing new is easy, an income after a few years, particularly with the “leverage factor” of the Wardrobe Plan, can rival a professional who has studied for 10 or 15 years in their field, then has educational loans to repay, office equipment, leases, etc.  This is a straight forward, minimum investment opportunity to make a large income without need of inventory, advertising, location, improvements, and all of the other investments required before one usually can make a success of the clothing business or achieve a six figured income in any area.

Enclosed are some reading materials about Greg Chapman’s.  This initial package does not include any of the “chapters” and training materials from our training manuals, which are chapter and verse in the “business of selling custom clothing”.  This initial package is simply to provide you the background of the company so that you might consider the opportunity to represent us in the sale of custom clothing.

The key to success in this business is having the resources to survive while your  sales abilities and your clientele become sufficient enough to support you.  Whether you have a spouse that has a steady income that is enough for your household expenses, or you are independently wealthy, or perhaps have a secondary source of income that requires a minimal amount of time, leaving you 90% available to pursue this, it is indeed important to have the resources to allow this process to fall into place.

Indicate your interest after receiving this package and the next step can be discussed.  Thank you for your interest in working with Greg Chapman’s, Executive Tailored Clothes.
